Perfect 01:55
Roll up, roll up, it's the social fair Count up the trophies, quif that hair Leave out the spooks and the spivs don't care Lay out your stall for the players there Oh he's such a perfect boy Oh she's such a perfect girl (whatever) Daddy's so proud and mummy's got her hair done Standing to attention for some weekend fun Nameless, shameless, living in a fantasy Naughty little lives in a model little family Oh he's such a perfect boy Oh she's such a perfect girl (whatever) Look at your reflection, who do you think you see? One plus one is sometimes free Find a little courage to swing from the rafters Leave all the crowd for happy ever-afters Oh he's such a perfect boy Oh she's such a perfect girl Oh he's such a perfect boy Oh she's such a perfect girl (whatever)

Banshee 02:07
You're givin' it that Oyster Rockafellas and a wee Gewürzt From where we're sat Rome is slowly burning We're the ones who's getting hurt Banshee in a quarter acre yard Screaming for a changing of the guard You're moving your lips Silver spoon and your tea leaf views See the sinking ships? Country overboard, so did you read it in the news? Banshee in a quarter acre yard Screaming for a changing of the guard Heartless, fearless Humpties on a wall Ten to one we bet you're gonna fall Banshee in a quarter acre yard Screaming for a changing of the guard Going, going, going, gone

Textiles 02:46
Comes alive, doesn't say a lot Head high, towel in hand Doesn't dress for tea, no need to pack a lot Not defined by tighty whitey lines Ohhh Likes the lifestyle, without textile Don't matter if the grass is overgrown Ain't no dark horse, runs his own course Likes to flutter in the breeze More D's! Mind is free, a book without a cover Lost his label, many tans ago Spitting chicken, sensei in the kitchen Dojo rules, everybody knows Ohhhhh Likes the lifestyle, without textile Don't matter if the grass is overgrown Ain't no dark horse, runs his own course Likes to flutter in the breeze More D's! Keep blinkered views, in suburban mews Textiled sermons, yesterday's news He's heard it all before, really doesn't care Open your eyes, imagine you're there! Likes the lifestyle, without textile Don't matter if the grass is overgrown Ain't no dark horse, runs his own course Likes to flutter in the breeze More D's!

Crown 03:11
Go, go, go, smash it all down Challenge all the rules Don't suffer fools who claim a crown You, you, you, dreaming of it Know your bones and dance your own way Keep your faith and never sway From who you are Rising, from the depths of dark seas Reaching for the surface Ascending up to breathe Watch us, break free, fly and soar high Bright stars on the skyline This is, this is our time to Stay True to yourself Go, go, go, smash it all down Challenge all the rules Don't suffer fools who claim a crown You, you, you, dreaming of it Know your bones and dance your own way Keep your faith and never sway From who you are We know the odds are stacked The haters hate but we'll fight back Our faith is strength to see us through These battle lines we've drawn with you We hold these reigns, this change, this wave, this movement, conquer kingdoms Stand for future generations Fight for choice, fight for freedom Stay True to yourself Go, go, go, smash it all down Challenge all the rules Don't suffer fools who claim a crown You, you, you, dreaming of it Know your bones and dance your own way Keep your faith and never sway From who you are.

Silence 03:09
What will you say, As ashes blow away And you file outside into the autumn air He lived a simple life? A garden and a wife? And as the silence screams You just stare You see through me Such simple words Seems so absurd Yet the price of love is more than you can bear Your heart is caged in steel You can't afford to feel And as the silence screams You just stare You see through me In your life you cast your shadow over me Why won't you see? Moments wasted on the hope of so much more You see through me In my life I've lived in shadows cast by yours Fell in-between the cracks, ignored I sing my song for you and open up my heart You see through me What will you write With your hindsight Did you take the time to learn enough to share? What will you send A stand in for a friend And as the silence screams You just stare You see through me
7.
Not Like Me 03:15
Not like me, Not like me Nothing stands the test of time In the end what's yours is mine Only those who run like me Know the visions that I see Few of us are made to find Higher plains of any kind Think beyond the garden wall and See the stars begin to fall Not like me, Not like me Nothing built will last forever Drift apart or come together Nothing comes to those who wait Tomorrow's chances are too late Every day brings strength of mind The years are leaving you behind I won't rest until I'm whole Body, mind, aching soul Not like me, Not like me Never sought for second best Never found the time to rest Never closed my eyes to change Always looked to rearrange Nothing matters more these days I have tried the other ways Drifters cloud the way you see Maybe you are not like me Not like me, Not like me, Not like me, Not like me

Got The Girl 02:19
Their eyes first locked in a small cafe Latte lips, Eggs Benedict, over Hemingway By the time she caught the waiter's eye He was in love She had her mind on a dinner date at seven He got it sown up, he'd died and gone to heaven Status update: punching above his weight Oo Ah, top of the world Oo Ah, he got the girl Oo Ah, she don't feel the same Oo Ah, what a crying shame Friday night on the pull with the lads Practiced pout, Wonderbra, she's a drunken dream By the time they left the dance floor He was in love He flagged a taxi to take them to the West End She got her sights set firmly on his best friend Status update: snagged himself a bombshell Oo Ah, top of the world Oo Ah, he got the girl Oo Ah, she don't feel the same Oo Ah, what a crying shame Only drives at two speeds, doesn't mind the nose bleeds Looking for his mother in the eyes of every lover Heart is in the right place, head is lost in outer space Slow down sunshine you've got more time Oo Ah, top of the world Oo Ah, he got the girl Oo Ah, she don't feel the same Oo Ah, what a crying shame

Ten Percent 02:05
When you hit the sack at night Does your conscience bother you? Does your overdraft of love Drain the joy from what you do Many years of tears, deceptions Line the course you're set to take All your wealth and shallow charms Will be the last thing you forsake We're open Sundays, come at 10 and take a pew We got the hypocrites, we got the lowlifes Dodgy dealers, cheating house wives Ten percent deal, did we mention We can fast track your redemption When your past affects your future Do you file appeals to suit? Is your history a rewrite Of the truth that's haunting you Many moments mark the man Some cuts can slice down to a soul You can say it never happened Just pretend you're in control We're open Sundays, come at 10 and take a pew We got the hypocrites, we got the lowlifes Dodgy dealers, cheating house wives Ten percent deal, did we mention We can fast track your redemption Oh yeah, sure we're screwed up like you You'll fit in fine as you do as we do We got the hypocrites, we got the lowlifes Dodgy dealers, cheating house wives Ten percent deal, did we mention We can fast track your redemption We got the pond scum, we got the freak shows Judges sidekicks, sexual no-gos Its a win-win we're a great fit We're the shovel you're the shit

Blah blah, blah blah, I love the sound of my voice Talk for hours but it's just a lot of noise Think I make myself perfectly clear Lights are on but there's no one here. With all due respect, the fact of the matter is Going forward, break down silos and touch bases Let's get disruptive, push the envelope yeah It's in the pipeline, let's take this offline. Blah blah, blah blah, I love the sound of my voice Talk for hours but its just a lot of noise Think I make myself perfectly clear Lights are on but there's no one here. Run it up the flagpole, think outside the box Raise the bar and get our ducks in a row Synergise, my door is open Blue-sky thinking, are you with me? Blah blah, blah blah, I love the sound of my voice Talk for hours but its just a lot of noise Think I make myself perfectly clear Lights are on but there's no one here. I think I'm great, I've nailed it look at me I've memorised the slides from one to ten and back again I can draw and point and talk at the same time With me on board, turn your water into wine!

Sanctuary 04:34
Too many voices shouting from the left and right They breed oppression block the truth snub out the light My axe is blunt from waging war at every turn You build your pyres stack 'em high I'll watch 'em burn Take a moment, breathe the air in Feel your lungs charged with freedom Take a sight line, mark the target Squeeze the trigger and let it, let it Let it rise, let it soar Your spirit won't be crushed any more Over land, over sea Come to us, come to find your sanctuary Your city's choking on its self-indulgent bile Cesspit of fascists marching paradigms of style Indignant outrage over things you can't control Your freedom licenced you're just living on parole Take a moment, breathe the air in Feel your lungs charged with freedom Take a sight line, mark the target Squeeze the trigger and let it, let it Let it rise, let it soar Your spirit won't be crushed any more Over land, over sea Come to us, come to find your sanctuary In this place we leave their prejudice behind Free your body, free your soul and own your mind Let it rise, let it soar Your spirit won't be crushed any more Over land, over sea Come to us, come to find your sanctuary.

about

'Silence', OLDER's debut album was 5 years in the making & brought together a multitude of styles with inspiration drawn from music spanning decades.

The album has a retro New-Wave/ Post-Punk vibe but you can judge the end result for yourself! It is whatever it wants to be, whatever you make of it.

OLDER value classic song-writing - if it can't be played on an acoustic guitar around a campfire the odds are it won't make it to release. Add harmonies (lovely, rich harmonies), a Vox keyboard, sometimes a sad violin and the bite of a Rickenbacker bass and they are 'happy as'. The songs are unique to each other but connected by a common thread. The lyrics are penned to be cross-generational and rarely stray far from ideas of personal freedom, seeking out your own sanctuary and celebrating the individual.

The O symbol of OLDER was designed to be a nod and wink to the Celtic sign of the Awenydd - literally meaning 'inspiration' in Welsh (Jel's ancestry). It's a complex concept but for us in a nutshell: 'Those who make a place in their hearts, in their thoughts and in the way they live open themselves to inspiration.' It may appear grandiose however, for OLDER it represents the source of their creativity and in turn much of their freedom and happiness in life and through being musicians.

We produce music laden with antipathy for mainstream culture and seasoned with an alternative point of view, wrapped up in a deceptive layer of respectability. We champion the creative thinker and the under dog yapping in the wind. Everything we write is inspired by first-hand experience through our ADHD lens.
