According to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs the five-tier model of human needs are physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. To be loved and feel a sense of belonging humans yearn for acceptance. Acceptance is more than just toleration, it's validation and celebration of being, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Yet fear, condemnation and indoctrination suppresses progress for all humankind.
